Opening Festival

Welcome to our newly refurbished main building on Ausstellungsstrasse! In the listed building, a key work of Neues Bauen in Switzerland, the Museum für Gestaltung Zürich will be presenting the treasures of its internationally acclaimed collection for the first time on a permanent basis. The exhibitions Collection Highlights and Ideal Living, located in the two new rooms in the basement, will showcase the highlights of design history. The large hall, now restored to its original two storeys, will feature several expansive installations by atelier oï, the French-speaking Swiss design agency. From there — past the museum shop and along to the generous education studio and its diverse workshops — Poster Stories spanning over 100 years can be discovered. The museum café and the new Swiss Design Lounge invite visitors to bide their time and experience contemporary Swiss furniture. From March 2018, the Museum für Gestaltung Zürich will be operating two sites, its main building and its annex at Toni-Areal.

Celebrate this milestone in the museum’s history with us!
