Printing without instructions
Open workshop inviting to experiment and make things ourselves
The transfer of knowledge is an important aspect of “do-it-yourself”. This is often aided by detailed sets of instructions, where the focus is on reproducing something precisely. However, this project aims at stimulating our own ideas, with the help of photos and material made available. Besides the product, we focus is on the tools used. Can we make printing plates ourselvs? What materials can we use and what tools are available? By experimenting we explore new solutions producing our own prints and tools.
In the interest of sustainability materials and everyday objects meant for waste are employed, of the kind that anyone can use in the printing workshop at home.
With Sarina Admaty, Sabrina Barbieri, Fabienne Kälin, students of ZHdK (Master Art Education)
Tuesday to Sunday, 7 April to 12 April 2015, during the museum opening hours.
No registration required. During educational events places in the open workshop are limited.
Voluntary contribution to material costs: CHF 2
